Dr Berry Allen PhD

Berry initially trained in the discipline of Radiation Therapy, and from there developed a keen interest in Nuclear Medicine – Molecular Imaging, qualifying in Nuclear Medicine following training at the London and Royal Marsden Hospitals in the UK.
On returning to New Zealand, Berry worked in both the Radiation Therapy and Nuclear Medicine fields before securing his current location at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton, NZ, where is worked for many years leading the Molecular Imaging team and developing new strategies for the advancement of Molecular Imaging.
The Waikato Hospital Molecular Imaging department serves a population base of approximately one million, providing Regional Oncology studies, of which Radioiodine investigations in the clinical setting of thyroid cancer is a large part. Berry performs 123-Iodine investigations post surgery and following 131-Iodine ablation therapy.
